Accessing Varnish Settings

- Open Digital Factory.
- Go to the Q menu.
- Click Properties.
- Expand the Color Layer section.
- Select Processing Options.
Navigating to Clear (Varnish) Options

- In the Processing Options dialog, review the tabs: The first tab displays White and Color options.
- Select the Clear options tab.
- The second tab displays Clear and other spot options.
Adjusting Maximum Varnish Ink Percentage

- Locate the Maximum Ink Percentage setting under Clear options.
- Understand that this value controls how much varnish is applied.
- Note the original value is 45.
- Increase the value if more varnish is required.
- Optionally type a custom value directly into the field.
- Example: Change the value to 60.
Adjusting Clear Ink Spread

- Locate the Spread the Clear Ink setting.
- Understand this controls how much the varnish spreads for durability and color protection.
- Note the original value is set to 5.
- Increase the value to spread the varnish more.
- Decrease the value when printing on items such as black bottles or mugs where less spread is desired.
Treating Semi-Transparent Areas as Opaque

- Locate the option to Treat all semi-transparent as opaque.
- Understand this forces varnish to cover semi-transparent edges.
- Example use case: Flame graphics with transparent edges.
- Enable this option if varnish coverage is required in these areas.
- Leave this option unchecked for most applications, as recommended.
Adjusting Varnish Choke and Position

- Click Layer Profile.
- Locate the Choke setting for the clear layer.
- Adjust the choke value: Lower the value into negative numbers to increase clear spread.
- Adjust the clear layer position left or right as needed.
- Use this adjustment similarly to head spacing adjustments in Hosonsoft or DTF Station Pilot.
- Raise the value above zero to decrease clear spread.
Finalizing Changes

- Click OK to save the changes.
- Confirm the new varnish settings are applied to the queue or print mode.
