- Note that the video is divided into two chapters: Chapter 1: Joining Discord on a mobile device
- Complete Chapter 1 before proceeding to Chapter 2.
- Chapter 2: Setting up Discord on a desktop computer
Accessing the Discord Invitation Email
- Locate the email received after purchasing your equipment.
- Identify the equipment name listed in the email.
- Review the two main links in the email: Quick Start Guide link
- Click the Discord invitation link.
Installing the Discord Mobile App
- Accept the Discord invite.
- If using Android, allow the link to open the Google Play Store.
- If using iPhone, allow the link to open the App Store.
- Click Install.
- After installation, click Continue or Open.
Creating or Logging Into a Discord Account
- Confirm that the invite to the DTF Station community is visible.
- If you already have a Discord account, log in.
- If you do not have an account, click Register.
- Choose to register using a phone number or email.
- Click Next.
- Create a display name for your profile.
- Click Next.
- Create a username and password.
- Save your login credentials securely.
- Click Next.
- Enter your date of birth.
- Click Create Account.
- Confirm the account.
- Complete the security verification.
- Click Verify.
Completing Initial Account Setup
- Allow notifications when prompted.
- Choose whether to sync contacts or skip.
- Choose whether to allow others to find you or skip.
- Select a profile picture or upload your own.
- Click Next.
- Click Accept Invite.
- Click OK.
Understanding Discord Channels and Verification
- Review the available channels after entering the community.
- Note that you will start in the waiting room.
- Identify unread messages using black dots and red number indicators.
- Enter the Marcus support thread.
- Exit the app when prompted to verify your email.
- Open the Discord verification email.
- Click Verify Email.
- Click Continue to Discord to return to the app.
Registering for Tech Support Access
- Review the message indicating additional registration is required for tech support.
- Click the registration link for Marcus.
- Select Visit Site.
- Answer the registration questions.
- Select the country where the equipment was purchased.
- Select the dealer.
- Click Next.
- Enter personal information for tech support and parts shipping.
- Enter the state using the two-letter state code.
- Click Next.
- Select your RIP software or select None.
- Select the equipment purchased.
- Add multiple equipment entries and quantities if applicable.
Submitting Serial Numbers
- Prepare photos of the serial numbers for each product except the Epson G6070.
- Click Browse Files.
- Upload the serial number photos.
- Upload additional photos if needed.
- Reference the sample images provided if needed.
- Confirm serial numbers are typically located near the power cord.
- Click Next.
Verifying Submitted Information
- Wait for the system to analyze and extract serial numbers.
- Expand each category to review submitted information.
- Verify that all information is correct.
- Confirm serial numbers were extracted correctly.
- Edit any incorrect entries if needed.
- Note that incorrect serial numbers require manual verification.
- Click Submit.
Manual Verification Outcome
- Review the message indicating manual verification if serial numbers are incorrect.
- Wait up to 24 hours for verification.
- Watch for an email with a tech support channel invite.
- Accept the invite to gain access to additional channels.
Managing Notifications
- Press and hold the DTF Station icon.
- Select Notifications.
- Adjust notification settings for the community.
- Press and hold individual channels to adjust their notification settings.
- Select Mute Channel.
- Choose Until I turn it back on.
- Repeat for other channels as desired.
Understanding Available Channels
- Review the Resources channel for general resources.
- Mute the Resources channel if the Quick Start Guide already provides needed information.
- Review the Image Presto channel for AI image and video generation.
- Mute Image Presto if not needed.
- Note the option for a paid membership to keep generated assets private.
- Review the Video channel for additional video resources.
- Use Browse Channels to join or leave channels.
- Access equipment-specific support threads under Support.
Setting Up Discord on Desktop
- Open the Quick Start Guide PDF from your email.
- Download the PDF for reference.
- Select Equipment and Virtual Support Registration.
- Scroll to Download Discord.
- Click Download.
- Allow the system to detect your operating system.
- Click the download link.
- Open the downloaded file.
- Wait for Discord to install.
Desktop Login Using QR Code
- Open Discord on your desktop.
- Locate the QR code on screen.
- Open the camera app on your mobile device.
- Scan the QR code.
- Click the link that appears.
- Allow Discord to open.
- Select While Using the App if prompted.
- Scan the QR code again.
- Click Login on your phone.
- Confirm automatic login on the desktop application.
Completion
- Verify that the same channels are visible on desktop as on mobile.
- Confirm successful setup of Discord on both devices.
