Understanding Transparency and Color Data Interaction

- Open the Jobs menu.
- Select Production Plugins.
- Select Transparency / Opacity.
- Observe the bottom view showing color data.
- Observe the top view showing transparency data.
- Understand that transparency data controls how much white underbase is used.
- Note that color data is flattened during ripping.
- Recognize that transparency reduces color ink to allow the garment to show through.
Purpose of Color Boost

- Increase opacity to simulate how solid the color data would appear without transparency.
- Reduce the flattening effect applied to color data.
- Increase the amount of color ink laid down.
- Increase overall saturation of the printed image.
- Understand that the effect is similar to reducing midtones in a levels adjustment.
- Note that Color Boost affects only color data, not white ink.
Launching the Setup Color Boost Wizard

- Open the Q menu.
- Select Setup Color Boost.
- Choose a file typical of your production work, or select a test file from RIP system targets.
- Set the image size.
- Click Next.
Configuring and Printing Color Boost Test Charts

- Set the range of test values for the charts.
- Understand that: A value of 1 represents normal flattening
- Click Print Charts.
- Print the generated test images.
- Higher values increase color boost effect
Selecting the Preferred Color Boost Value

- Review the printed charts.
- Determine which value provides the best color vibrancy without oversaturation.
- Enter the selected chart value.
- Complete the Color Boost setup process.
