Overview of Job Color Replacement

  1. Use Job Color Replacement to target specific color values in a print job.
  2. Force selected colors to print using alternative output color values.
  3. Apply this feature to correct color mismatches or enhance print output.

Accessing Job Color Replacement

  1. Select the job in the queue.
  2. Click the Job Color Replacement button on the toolbar.
  3. Confirm that the job colors are displayed in a Raw Data preview window.
  4. Note that the cursor changes to a color picker.

Selecting Colors to Replace

  1. Click the first object in the preview whose color you want to replace.
  2. Confirm the selected color value appears in the Job Color Replacement dialog.
  3. Set the desired output color values for the replacement.
  4. Optionally adjust the Tolerance slider to include colors slightly off hue.
  5. Click the Add button to confirm the color replacement.

Adding Multiple Color Replacements

  1. Click the next object with a color to be replaced.
  2. Set the output color values.
  3. Adjust tolerance if required.
  4. Click Add to confirm.
  5. Repeat these steps until all required replacement colors are defined.

Applying and Previewing Color Replacement

  • Preview colors are shown on an RGB display
  • Preview does not represent exact printed color output
  • Preview confirms color replacement is applied to the correct areas
  1. Click the Apply button above the job preview.
  2. Click the Color Replacement Preview button to view the job with replacements applied.
  3. Click the Original Preview button to view the job before replacement.

Example: Matching Multiple Text Colors

  1. Define replacements for multiple text objects.
  2. Confirm that all selected text prints using the same output color.
  3. Verify results using the Color Replacement Preview.

Example: Correcting JPEG Compression Artifacts

  1. Identify off-hue pixels caused by JPEG compression.
  2. Select the affected color using the color picker.
  3. Increase the Tolerance slider to include surrounding off-hue pixels.
  4. Apply the color replacement.
  5. Confirm that image quality and text appearance are improved.
