What you need
- Cleaning solution
- Syringe
- Cleaning swabs
- Tape / print head lock (for front cover sensor)
- Gloves
- Screwdriver
- Hosonsoft software access
Step 0 – Prepare the Printer
- Open the front panel.
- If your printer has a front-cover sensor, cover it with a print head lock and tape so the printer thinks the cover is closed.
- Leave the front panel open for access.
- Press Menu.
- Navigate to Head Maintain.
- Select Head Status.
- Run a nozzle check.
- Identify which head is affected: Left Head = Color (CMYK)
- Right Head = White
- Both = Color + White
- Press Menu.
- Select Fill Ink.
- Choose the affected head: Right Head for White
- Run Fill Ink for 30 seconds.
- Press Cancel.
- Left Head for Color
- Two Head for both
- Start timing once ink visibly flows into the waste bottle.
Step 3 – Clean Wiper Blade
- Press the Left Arrow key to move the carriage away.
- Expose the wiper blade.
- Clean the wiper blade using a cleaning swab soaked in cleaning solution.
- Do NOT use a lint-free cloth.
- Press Enter to dock the carriage.
- Press the Cleaning button.
- Perform two head cleanings back to back.
- Advance the film.
- Press Menu.
- Go to Head Maintain → Head Status.
- Run another nozzle check.
- Compare with the previous result.
- If not 100%, proceed to Wet Capping.
Step 6 – Wet Capping Procedure
- Warm cleaning solution for ~15 seconds in a microwave.
- Press the Left Arrow to move the carriage away.
- Using a syringe, pour cleaning solution into the affected capping station.
- Do not overfill.
- Press Enter to seat the head and seal the cap.
- Let the cleaning solution sit for 15 minutes.
- Open the right-side panel.
- Identify the pump corresponding to the affected head.
- Twist and remove the pump.
- Identify the tube going to the capping station (do NOT pull from the waste tube).
- Disconnect the tube leading to the capping station.
- Attach syringe and pull with strong pressure.
- Dump contents into the waste container.
- Repeat the pull one more time: First pull removes air
- Reconnect the tube and reinstall the pump.
- If both heads were wet capped, repeat for the second pump.
- Do NOT pull from the circulation pump.
- Perform 2–3 head cleanings on the affected head.
- Run another nozzle check.
- If improved but not perfect, repeat wet capping once more.
- If no improvement, proceed to mechanical checks.

- 30-second video pressing Enter repeatedly to show head-to-cap alignment
Step 11 – Verify Wiper Blade Contact
- Open the capping station compartment.
- Watch the wiper blade wipe the print head at eye level.
- Confirm even contact across the head.
- If slanted, manually straighten the blade (wear gloves).
- If height is incorrect, adjust wiper blade height in Hosonsoft.
- Press Enter and observe the capping station movement.
- Confirm it reaches and seals against the print head.
- If it does not reach the head, adjust capping station height in Hosonsoft.
- Observe whether the cap is centered under the print head.
- If misaligned, adjust home position using the Home Position adjustment guide.
- Close the front panel.
- Remove the two top screws.
- Open the lid fully.
- Press Left Arrow to move carriage to center.
- Loosen four screws on each side of the carriage.
- Remove top and bottom carriage covers.
- Turn off the printer.
- Identify which dampers to test (White or Color).
- Remove damper by gripping the side (never the belly).
- Hold damper downward: If ink leaks → bad damper.
- Hold damper upright and pull ink with syringe.
- Good damper signs: Steady ink flow
- Bad damper signs: Ink flows backward
- Reinstall good dampers carefully.
- Note any bad dampers for replacement.
- No ink pulled
- Bubbles
- Loss of pressure
- Reinstall bottom carriage cover.
- Reinstall top carriage cover.
- Tighten four screws per side.
- Turn printer on.
- Allow carriage to return home.
- Reinstall and secure the front panel screws.
- Perform a nozzle check.
- Perform a wet cap if needed.
- Run two head cleanings.
- Confirm nozzle check quality.
