Media Removal and Time Limit Disclaimer

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Press the pinch roller button to release the media.
  3. Remove the media from the printer bed.
  4. Go to the back of the printer.
  5. Roll up the excess media.
  6. Loosen the knobs and remove the media core.
  7. Complete this entire procedure within 1 hour.
  8. If you cannot complete within 1 hour: Move the printer carriage back to the capping station to prevent printheads from drying out.
  • Resume only when you have enough time to finish.

Carriage Positioning and Power Down

  1. Press the left arrow key once to disengage the carriage from the capping station.
  2. Press and hold the left arrow key to move the carriage to the center of the bed.
  3. Power off the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord.
  5. Close the front cover.

Opening Covers and Accessing the Carriage Area

  1. Remove four screws from the top lid.
  2. Fully open the printer lid.
  3. Remove two screws on both sides and the front of the printer carriage cover.
  4. Remove the carriage cover.
  5. Loosen two screws on the right side of the daughterboard cover.
  6. Loosen two screws on the left side of the daughterboard cover.
  7. Lift and remove the daughterboard cover.
  8. Place paper towels in front of the carriage to catch ink spillage.

Preparing Ink Lines and Removing Printheads

  1. Clip all ink lines as shown.
  2. Remove four screws from each printhead.
  3. If a screw is blocked, temporarily remove a damper to access it.
  4. At the daughterboard, carefully pull out every cable by pulling straight out.
  5. Take a picture and notes of cable orientation before removing.
  6. Avoid excessive wiggling to prevent damaging contact points.
  7. Remove all white dampers.
  8. Hold dampers by the hard outer plastic frame only.
  9. Place dampers on paper towels to catch ink.
  10. Remove all color dampers.
  11. Remove the printheads and set them aside.
  12. Do not allow anything to touch the face of the printhead.

Closing Ink Valves and Draining Dampers

  1. At the ink containers, close all ink lines by turning the knobs.
  2. Using a syringe, uncap one white ink line.
  3. Pull ink from the white damper and pour into a waste container.
  4. Repeat the pull-and-drain process three times for that damper.
  5. Clip the line closed again.
  6. Repeat the same drain process for each white ink line and damper.
  7. Repeat the same drain process for each color line and damper.

Removing the Daughterboard and Upper Panel

  1. At the daughterboard, unplug the specified cable.
  2. Unplug the two cables on the top.
  3. Remove the screws that detach the daughterboard.
  4. Remove the remaining cables.
  5. Remove four screws to lift the panel.
  6. Carefully route cables through as the panel is lifted away.

Cutting and Removing Ink Tubes Near the Carriage

  1. Remove screws to detach the next piece as shown.
  2. Cut all tubes just above the ink clips.
  3. Remove and save the ink clips.
  4. Repeat for the color lines.
  5. Note the sticker at the back that indicates damper order.
  6. Remove the white and color ink lines from the holding piece.
  7. Clean, wrap, and tape the ends of the ink tubes.
  8. Place the tube ends into a Ziploc bag.

Removing Ink Tube Guide and Rail Assembly

  1. Remove the two screws from the ink tube guide.
  2. Remove the next two screws to loosen the rail.
  3. Shift the assembly to the right to access the next component.
  4. Place a paper towel as shown.
  5. Cut the zip tie.
  6. Cut the four ink tubes at the base as shown and set them aside.
  7. Cut the next tie and remove the bracket.
  8. Place removed components into the same Ziploc bag.
  9. Close the bag tightly around the ink tubes and secure it with tape.

Disconnecting a Wire Terminal Block

  1. Locate the wire block and remove glue from the base if present.
  2. Take a photo for reference to reinstall wires correctly.
  3. Using a precision flathead screwdriver, loosen the two bolts counterclockwise.
  4. Remove the wires.

Removing Side and Rear Panels for Tube Access

  1. Remove the screws from the back interior area as shown.
  2. On the left interior side, remove four screws to remove the cover.
  3. Remove two screws to remove the bracket.
  4. At the back of the printer, remove six screws to remove the panel.
  5. Remove three screws and remove the top holder.

Disconnecting Tubes at Ink Containers and Bagging

  1. Detach all ink tubes from the ink containers.
  2. Use scissors if needed to help pull tubes off initially.
  3. Clean, wrap, and tape the tube ends.
  4. Cut tubes at the top of the ink filters.

Draining a White Ink Line and Routing Tubes Forward

  1. Bend the white ink tube and apply a zip tie to cut off circulation.
  2. Locate the connector and rotate counterclockwise to disconnect it.
  3. Attach a syringe to the end of the tube.
  4. Cut the zip tie.
  5. Pull ink repeatedly until no more comes out.
  6. Remove the connector piece from the end of the tube.
  7. Reattach the connector piece by rotating clockwise.
  8. Place paper towels at the bottom.
  9. Slowly pass each tube through to the front and catch with paper towels.
  10. Clean as you route the tubes through.
  11. Route tubes through and under toward the right side.
  12. Clean up any ink splatter.
  13. Clean, wrap, and tape the tube ends again.

Removing Bottom Hatch Rail and Yellow Cable

  1. Remove two screws to open the bottom hatch.
  2. Locate cables and cut all zip ties holding them together.
  3. Remove the entire tube rail system.
  4. Cut the yellow cable with scissors.

Motherboard Removal for Cable Routing

  1. Go to the back of the printer and open the rear door panel.
  2. Locate the motherboard and take a picture for reference.
  3. Remove the specified motherboard cables.
  4. Remove four screws securing the motherboard.
  5. Unplug the ethernet cable.
  6. Remove the remaining cables.
  7. Remove the motherboard from the printer.

Removing Cable Covers and Routing the Yellow Cable

  1. Unclip and open the long panel.
  2. Pull out and route the yellow cable away from other wiring.
  3. Remove the vertical plastic panel by unclipping all sides.
  4. Route the yellow cable through the back into the side.
  5. Pull out remaining yellow cable and route through the back.
  6. Remove the yellow cable completely from the printer.

Removing the Black Cable to Free the Ink Tube Assembly

  1. Locate the black cable at the front and trace it to the back of the printer.
  2. Remove the obstructing cables by loosening the two screws.
  3. Before removing wires, take a photo and note wire labels.
  4. Once clear, locate the two cables the main black cable splits into.
  5. Loosen screws to detach the black cable.
  6. Route the black cable back to the front.
  7. Remove the entire ink tube assembly.

Routing the Replacement Ink Tube Assembly

  1. Identify the two ends of the replacement ink tube assembly.
  2. Route and curve one end as shown.
  3. Route the first cable through the hole to the back.
  4. Route the second cable to the side and through the hole to the back.
  5. Open the bottom latch and route the two tubes through the hole.
  6. Ensure no cables or tubes are pinched when closing the latch.
  7. Close the latch.
  8. Split the tubes apart and route them through the holes in the specified order.
  9. Verify the routed tubes match the intended order.

Securing the Rail and Routing Color Tubes

  1. Position the rail to sit properly in the bottom latch.
  2. Install the two screws to secure the latch.
  3. Install the two screws to secure the rail.
  4. Route the color tubes through the holes using the sticker as the color order reference.
  5. Seat screws into the other side of the rail and secure it to the bracket.
  6. Verify the carriage can slide back and forth freely.
  7. Pull tubes through to reduce slack between bracket and rail.

Installing Guides, Brackets, and Connecting Tubes to Nozzles

  1. Split tubes further as needed while keeping tube order consistent.
  2. Position tubes under the guide and secure it with two screws.
  3. Position the specified part onto the bracket as shown.
  4. Secure it with a zip tie and cut excess.
  5. Remove zip tie from extra tubes and split them in half.
  6. Cut four tubes to a length that can reach.
  7. Cut off excess zip ties.
  8. Insert tubes through the bracket as shown.
  9. Plug each tube fully onto the nozzles to prevent air leaks.
  10. Route tubes under the tubes coming out of the rail.
  11. Split remaining tubes while keeping order consistent.
  12. Route each tube through the top of the bracket.
  13. Secure the bracket with two screws.
  14. Connect White 2 to the specified nozzle and White 1 to the specified nozzle.
  15. Push tubes fully in to prevent air leaks.

Installing Rail Cables and Ink Clips

  1. Locate rail cables and identify labels on each cable.
  2. Insert wires into the correct slots.
  3. Tighten screws as tight as possible.
  4. Lightly tug wires to confirm secure connection.
  5. Slide saved ink clips onto every tube.
  6. For color tubes, position the ink clip above the color label but below the color indicator sleeve.

Reinstalling Panel and Daughterboard

  2. Route additional cables through the same opening.
  3. Position the panel and secure with four screws.
  4. Organize wires by routing and grouping as shown.
  5. Position the daughterboard.
  6. Organize cables as shown.

Daughterboard Cable Connections

  1. Plug each specified cable into its corresponding port as shown.
  2. For the two cables with end plugs that must be removed, remove the plugs first.
  3. Identify the numbered cables (1 and 2) and plug them into the correct ports.
  4. Align the connector notch with the corresponding divot on the port.
  5. Verify the daughterboard cable layout matches the reference arrangement.

Reconnecting Rear Cables and Organizing Cable Rails

  2. Plug the red cable into the specified terminal and tighten the screw.
  3. Plug the blue cable into the specified terminal and tighten the screw.
  4. Reconnect remaining cables using earlier photos and notes as reference.
  5. Organize wires into the horizontal plastic railing.
  6. Organize wires into the vertical plastic railing.
  7. Push excess yellow cable length back into the hole and organize as shown.

Reinstalling Cable Covers and Motherboard

  1. Reinstall the horizontal cover onto the railing.
  2. Install the vertical cover onto the railing.
  3. Use cover slots to route any cables that must remain exposed.
  4. Locate the two numbered yellow cables.
  5. Plug the two cables into the motherboard as shown.
  6. Plug the single cable into the motherboard as shown.
  7. Position the motherboard back into place.
  8. Plug in the ethernet cable.
  9. Ensure required cables are not trapped behind the motherboard.
  10. Secure the motherboard with four screws.
  11. Plug in the remaining labeled cables as shown.
  12. Route the ribbon cable under the ethernet cable, then under the motherboard.
  13. With blue tape facing up, align and insert the ribbon cable evenly until seated.
  14. Plug in the remaining cables as shown.
  15. Close the rear door panel.

Securing Excess Cable and Reinstalling Carriage Area Panels

  1. On the side of the printer, roll up excess yellow cable.
  2. Secure the cable bundle with a zip tie.
  3. At the front, organize cables and tubes into the bracket divots.
  4. Secure the bracket with two screws.
  5. Verify the setup matches the reference arrangement.
  6. Reinstall the panel and secure with four screws.

Installing Printheads

  1. Position the color printhead with the QR code facing you.
  2. Install the color printhead into the carriage.
  3. Secure it with four screws.
  4. Install the screw with the washer in the top-right position.
  5. Use a hand screwdriver only; do not use power tools.
  6. For each screw, rotate counterclockwise first to seat the threads, then tighten clockwise.
  7. Lightly start all screws, then tighten evenly across all corners.
  8. Install the white printhead using the same method.

Installing Dampers and Tube Length Setup

  1. Plug new dampers into the new tubes.
  2. Push tubes fully into dampers to prevent air leaks.
  3. Use the sticker reference to match each color to the correct slot.
  4. For white tubes, measure a length so tubes are not pulling and do not have excess slack.
  5. Cut white tubes to length using scissors.
  6. Attach and install the dampers.
  7. Plug dampers into the printhead, following tube routing order for white.

Power-On Check for Daughterboard Errors

  1. Place ribbon cables behind the tubes to keep them out of the way.
  2. Plug in power and switch power on.
  3. Place scissors to trigger the sensor so the printer detects the carriage is docked on the capping station.
  4. Check the top of the daughterboard for red lights.
  5. If no red lights are present, proceed.
  6. Power the printer back off.

Ribbon Cable Installation to Daughterboard

  1. Plug in all ribbon cables from the printheads to the daughterboard using the provided diagram.
  2. Use the diagram: Top half applies to the color printhead.
  3. Confirm the left adapter is for the color printhead and the right adapter is for the white printhead.
  4. Use cable stickers (if present) to match the diagram.
  5. For each printhead: Some cables connect to the top port.
  6. Align ribbon cables so the blue tape sides face each other.
  7. At the daughterboard port: Blue tape faces the specified side.
  8. Insert each ribbon cable evenly across its width.
  9. Confirm you can barely see the tips of the contact points when seated correctly.
  • Bottom half applies to the white printhead.
  • Some cables connect to the bottom port.
  • Contact points face the specified side.

Routing Tubes to Ink Containers and Installing Ink Filters

  1. At the back of the printer, identify each tube by its color label.
  2. Route tubes through the large holes toward the corresponding ink containers.
  3. Measure about halfway between the bracket and the ink container nozzle.
  4. Cut tubes to length.
  5. Install an ink filter into each tube.
  6. Confirm filter orientation: The side labeled INLET faces up and connects toward the ink bottles.
  7. Use the cut tube piece to connect the opposite side of the filter.
  8. Repeat for every ink tube.

Connecting White 1 and White 2 Tubes

  1. Locate the White 1 and White 2 tubes.
  2. Route White 1 to the white ink container.
  3. Route White 2 to the white ink circulation system.
  4. Route White 1 through the bracket like other tubes.
  5. Disconnect the adapter by rotating counterclockwise.
  6. Connect the adapter to White 2.
  7. Connect the adapter to the opposite adapter by rotating clockwise.
  8. For White 1, install an ink filter using the same method as color tubes.

Securing Tube/Filter Bracket and Connecting to Ink Containers

  2. Position the bracket as shown and secure with three screws.
  3. Plug each ink tube into its corresponding ink container using tube labels.
  4. Push tubes fully in.

Filling Ink Containers and Airflow Setup

  1. Shake all ink bottles before filling.
  2. Shake white ink longer than the others, at least 60 seconds.
  3. Allow about 20 minutes for bubbles to settle before pouring.
  4. Fill each container with the correct ink color.
  5. After closing, open each cap a quarter turn to allow airflow.

Opening Valves and Leak Check

  1. Open each ink valve.
  2. Compare ink flow to the white ink reference behavior shown.
  3. If any ink flows out significantly more than the white ink: Suspect an air leak or damaged damper.

Priming Dampers With Syringe

  1. At the front, remove each damper carefully.
  2. Attach the syringe to the damper.
  3. Pull until ink fills the line, fills the damper, and a small amount enters the syringe.
  4. Repeat for every damper.

Second Power-On Error Check and Reassembly

  1. Use a zip tie to organize the white tube as shown.
  2. Switch power on.
  3. Use scissors to trigger the carriage-docked sensor.
  4. Check the daughterboard for red lights.
  5. If no red lights are present, proceed.
  6. Power the printer off.
  7. Reinstall the daughterboard cover and tighten the two screws on each side.
  8. Reinstall the carriage cover and secure with: Two screws on the left
  • Two screws on the right
  • Two screws in the front

Reinstalling Rear Cover and Organizing Ink Lines

Media Installation and Alignment

  2. Feed film under the tension rod as shown.
  3. Press the button to lift pinch rollers.
  4. Feed media in from the back.
  5. Confirm the media is fed straight.
  6. Lower the pinch rollers to secure the media.
  7. Set the speed reel to the “1” position.
  8. At the front, position media guides as shown.
  9. Hold media with one hand and lift the pinch rollers.
  10. Pull with slight tension to straighten the media.
  11. Lower the pinch rollers again.

Fill Ink, Cleanings, and Nozzle Check

  1. At the control panel, confirm status is Idle.
  2. Select Menu.
  3. Navigate to Head Maintenance and press Enter.
  4. Select Fill Ink and press Enter.
  5. Select Head 2 and press Enter.
  6. Run Fill Ink for 30 to 40 seconds.
  7. Start timing only once ink is flowing through the waste tube.
  8. Press Cancel.
  9. Press the Cleaning button to start a cleaning.
  10. Perform two cleanings.
  11. Press Nozzle Test to perform a nozzle check.
  12. If nozzles are full, ink tube replacement is complete.
